08 Oct Changes to our front of house
Goodbye to Jane, hello to Zoe
We are sad to say goodbye to our front of house manager, Jane, who has decided to return to her previous role as a teaching assistant. Our new front of house manager is Zoe Blackmore, who is well known in the town.
Zoe has been working at Tickety-Boo part time since we opened, and has shown a real enthusiasm for the Ottery St Mary-based coffee shop and play kingdom. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked at the Tesco staff canteen for 15 years, where she was Team Leader. She’s a popular choice – well known in the town from her time working at the Kings Arms.
Another welcome addition to our front of house team is Cheryl Mabin. Cheryl’s background includes 14 years at the Disney Store in Plymouth, as well as being manager of a branch of St Luke’s Hospice. Cheryl is also a ‘local lass’.
Our chef, Dave Goldthorpe said: “It’s a pleasure to have Zoe on board as our front of house manager. She’s already learned the ropes so she knows what’s involved – lots of hard work and dedication!
“We will all miss Jane who steered us brilliantly through the opening stages of the business – but we know she’ll be popping in from time to time for her coffee fix.”
Since we opened in August this year, Tickety-Boo has been an incredible success story for the town. It is proving to be a popular destination for parents of young children as well as customers who enjoy the homecooked fare on offer. The policy is for all food served to be made on the premises, so customers enjoy the freshest flavours.
Chef Dave recently run his first pop-up restaurant at the premises. The five-course Thai night on October 1 was a runaway success with diners clamouring for another event soon – we’re told it’s going to be a Mexican extravaganza!
