Fundraising Total

We are thrilled to announce a total (so far) of £650 raised for Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

The most recent campaign held in June was free cream teas in return for a donation, which made over £60. Around £134 came from the coin spinner in the Play Kingdom and just under £105 from the general collection box and donations from the cookie decorating event at the recent food festival.

This was put together with funds already collected from the collection boxes to make the marvellous total.

This is very much down to our generous customers who always add their spare change to the collecting cans and the spinner. One lovely couple donated an amazing £20 for their cream teas which was much appreciated.

ELF Fundraiser, Gary Moore said: “‘ELF relies on fundraising from local businesses and individuals to fund services supporting patients and their families from all over Devon.

“We are overwhelmed by the support of the staff and customers at Tickety-Boo helping to raise such a fantastic amount. It is great to see children involved in fundraising with some of Tickety-Boo’s great fundraising ideas with plenty more in the pipeline. We look forward to working more with this fantastic family friendly business.”

The funds help ELF to continue its vital services to local families, which includes ‘ELF at Home’ where volunteers visit patients in their own homes. This service has developed and while some patients prefer a cuppa and chat, others enjoy being taken out by the volunteers, shopping, to the seaside or a walk in the countryside.

They also help patients practically with filling out application forms for parking permits. Additionally, a transport service transports them to the hospitals for appointments, removing the stress of parking at RD&E.

Last year, ELF appointed a second counsellor for its crucial counselling service, which is part of the treatment available for patients, and is also available to families including children.

We have pledged to continue our support for ELF – so watch out for more fundraising events as part of our third birthday celebrations in August.
