21 Nov Tickety-talented young writers
Ottery Primary School pupils proved they were talented wordsmiths in our recent writing competition.
The seasonally-themed competition attracted an impressive 63 entries from schoolchildren of all ages, from Foundation right up to Year 6.
We asked for stories based around Bonfire Night, Tar Barrels or Halloween and the entries came rolling in!
Our head chef Dave Goldthorpe and Tickety-Boo owner Stuart Phillips diligently read every entry before deciding the winners and runners up in each year group. It was a very difficult competition to judge – we weren’t expecting quite so many entries or such an amazingly high standard.
Dave, who is also on Ottery Primary’s PTA, visited the school during an assembly to give out certificates and prizes to the children. The winners received a free hot chocolate, snack and free play at our play kingdom, the runners up won a hot drink and free play, whilst the many third placed entries won a free homemade cookie.
Thanks to everyone who took part – you were all amazing!
